REBEL-UTION! The Modesty Survey

Okay, I know I haven't been around in a few days, and this is really cheezy to post someone else's words on your blog when you've been away. In this case, however, the words they used were SO compelling that I thought I would just leave them the way they are and include a link.

If you have teenagers, know any teenagers, or have children who will one day be teenagers, then you have GOT to check out this website! I am absolutely blown AWAY by these teenage boys and the Rebelution they have started.

Oh how I pray for my boys that they will have this kind of integrity and courage as young adults!

The following is straight from their website: has launched the results of their massive Modesty Survey! Over 1,600 Christian guys have answered questions on everything from glitter lotion and lip gloss to swimsuits and skirt slits! It's everything girls have ever wanted to ask guys about modesty, but were afraid to ask!

For guys, it's really interesting to see what other Christian guys think! Most importantly, the survey is presented as a resource to help Christian girls (and guys), not a list of legalistic rules, and it is accompanied by the Modesty Survey Petition (which tons of guys have signed) which encourage young women to focus on the heart, not the hemline, to honor their parents, etc.

The results were released on St. Valentine's Day as a gift from 1,600 Christian guys to all Christian girls -- and I can't think of a better one! Now the survey is being endorsed by people like Shaunti Feldhahn ("For Women Only") Nancy Leigh DeMoss (Revive Our Hearts), CJ Mahaney (Sovereign Grace Ministries) and Shannon Ethridge ("Every Woman's Battle")!

Go check it out:

But also make sure you spread the word to all your friends. We want as many Christian girls (and guys) as possible to see this, so forward this on!

P.S. Guys, they are still accepting signatures for the Modesty Survey Petition, so this is an opportunity for you to still share your voice on the topic of modesty!

Hey Chel ~ I'm on my way to check this out. Thanks for sharing it. This is exactly what girls need, to hear it straight from the guys' mouths. Amen!

Thanks for sharing this. I sent it to my daughters because the one away at college said recently that she will probably never date the entire time she's in college (she never dated in high school either) because guys are only after one thing and can't seem to even talk about anything else. She replied back that it was nice to know that not every guy was like that and that she will wait and pray that she finds that "needle in the haystack".

Very interesting. I would fall someone in the middle if I took that survey. I do think that some girls go way over the line when it comes to dress these days. No wonder the kids in school have so much trouble concentrating.

So far my son isn't interested in Girls but that is subject to change at any moment.

Wow, what an awesome site. I think I'm going see if there's a way I can incorporate the survey into a Young Life talk with our teens. So it was started by a group of teen guys? That's awesome! I hope to teach my kids well in this area.

How have you been? Busy? The next couple weeks are hectic here, so I may not be online too much. What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving? We have Thanksgiving with my in-laws this year and Christmas with my parents.

So glad you mentioned their site. I will definitely check it out because I saw them on Daystar's Joni Show. I was very impressed with them. Even recorded it for my kids to see. Glad to see there's some hope for the future.

I cracked up at your comments at Greg's place. Love the bumper sticker too.

Great site! We used the survey in our teen-girls group a few years ago. The girls were shocked at some of the answers the boys gave. It really made some of them think. The others are still trying to ignore the way guys think...
